Whether you’re planning a kitchen extension, reconfiguring your home, or exploring renovation ideas, our Small Projects Design Pack provides a clear and approachable route from initial ideas through to planning-stage design. 

The concept of the GTA Small Projects Design Pack is to facilitate professional design for clients who may have previously felt that hiring an Architectural Designer would incur fees disproportionate to the project budget. 

At GTA, we believe that every project, no matter the size, deserves a high-quality, considered design solution, allowing the best possible outcome for your home and budget, all for a simple, manageable fixed fee.

What is included?

Initial Consultation & Feasibility

  • Design Consultation: An in-depth discussion to align on your vision.

  • Aspirations & Budget Review: Reviewing your dream design with realistic cost parameters. Identifying your aesthetic vision for material, space and light.

  • Feasibility Advice: Expert insights on what is achievable, structural, spatial and planning compliant. 

  • Initial Project Strategy: A clear and concise roadmap for the journey ahead

Measured Survey

  • Survey: A comprehensive, accurate, measured Survey of Relevant Areas.

  • Site Photography: Full photographic documentation for design reference.

  • Existing Drawings: Preparation of precise "as-existing" floor plans and elevations.

  • Format: All data to be available in PDF or DWG format


Design Package

  • Identifying a Brief: Summarising your requirements in the form of an agreed brief

  • Proposed Floor Plans: Presentation of a single, highly considered proposal, in response to your brief, tailored to your lifestyle.

  • Design Development: Refining the concept based on your feedback. Included will be one set of revisions based on the presentation feedback.

  • Planning-Stage Drawings: CAD DWG file andCAD PDF architectural drawings ready for council submission.

  • 3D Visuals: 2 no. Simple 3D render perspectives to help you visualise the space.

  • Budget-Conscious Recommendations: Design choices curated to keep construction costs realistic. This will be a document, identifying products and suppliers relevant to the agreed design, such as recommended glazing, flooring, bathroom, lighting suppliers, as well as GTA-approved contractors*

  • Final PDF Package: A complete, professional drawing pack ready for your planning application. Please note that the supplied files will be to planning submission level, and are not to be used as detailed construction/ Building regulation compliant drawings.

Next Steps & Additional Services

Your Project, Your Pace

The Design Pack is a complete, standalone service. Once your planning drawings are ready, you are under no obligation to move forward with us. You have full ownership of your designs to use as you wish. You may wish to make a planning submission yourself (GTA can guide you through this). You can source a builder and obtain a cost estimate for the work*. You may decide to manage the project yourselves. You would need to instruct a Structural Engineer for any of the structural elements of the project, for Building Regulation compliance. 

However, if you would like seamless continuity from concept to construction, we are fully equipped to guide you through the next phases of your journey.
